MC NYLON
Monomer, cast, nylon (Mono Cast Nylon)
Raw nylon monomer is polymerized and molded under atmospheric pressure. Has superior material properties compared with injection molding and extrusion molding.
Overview
MC NYLON is one of the ENGINEERING PLASTICS and, compared with general NYLON-6, involves a different polymerization and molding method. It is a crystalline polymer manufactured with caprolactam and a chemical catalyst and has excellent mechanical strength and self-lubricating property. It is drawing attention for its heat resistance and as an alternative to metal. It is a commercial material with excellent physical properties that allows high-speed rotation and continuous operating at high temperature.
Features
It is formed not by physical formation but by chemical changes, and there is a low chance of residual stress due to the molecular weight about 10 times and the degree of crystallinity about twice the nylon-6.
① Excellent mechanical strength
(Excellent mechanical strength and durability compared to conventional nylon resins. Excellent dimensional stability, thermal properties, anti-noise, corrosion resistance along with excellent fatigue resistance and creep properties.)
② Excellent wear resistance and self-lubricating property (excellent sliding performance, suitable as a non-ferrous replacement material)
③ Anti-chemical properties (hardly infiltrated by organic solvents, oil/fat, and alkaline chemicals)
④ Continuous operating temperature = 120℃
