UHMW-PE(GUR), (UPE)
UPE (UPE) ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene
■ UHMW - Polyethylene
~ Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene with wear resistance, food hygiene, economics ~
Overview
It refers to high-density polyethylene with average molecular weight of approximately 100 million or more. It is called ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMW-PE) and generally known as "UPE". As it has the best impact resistance of all the thermoplastics as well as a remarkable wear resistance, it is mainly used in applications where a low friction coefficient, wear resistance, and impact resistance are required, such as guide rail, chain guide, chain conveyor, roller, etc. of return machines.
Features
① Best impact resistance (among all the plastics)
② Exceptional wear resistance (superior to enpla or stainless steel such as POM, 6N, etc.)
③ Self-lubricating (low friction coefficient and excellent sliding property)
④ Chemical resistance (not invaded by corrosive chemicals, except for strong acids)
⑤ Very low absorption (optimal where water is involved)
⑥ Continuous operating temperature = 80℃ (low continuous operating temperature = -100℃)
⑦ Low temperature property (cryogenic continuous operating temperature = -270℃, maintains high impact resistance and abrasion resistance under cryogenic temperature)
⑧ Non-toxic (completely harmless, even in direct contact with food, conforms to food hygiene law)
(Completely harmless, even in direct contact with food, conforms to food hygiene law.)
Uses
● Parts for food processing machinery and packaging machinery
● Parts for paper machinery and return machinery
● Machine parts including guide rail, star foil, chain guide, chain conveyor, roller, screw, etc.
● Fender, recreational facility, agricultural machinery, hopper, silo, etc.
